Steph and Nat's Snow Day
Feb. 5th, 2009 | 09:45 pm
I'm so jealous because Steph and Nat didn't have to go to work today and they got to play in the snow like we did when we were little. I woke up this morning, looked out of my window and wanted to cry, knowing I'd have to clear my car from all the snow as well as drive on scary roads in this weather. Thankfully the roads were quiet but that also meant that there was more snow on the roads as not all of them had been gritted.
I can't believe the UK, running out of grit, we clearly don't prepare for every eventuality.
Once I got to work, I set up the surgery ready to recieve the first patient but they were 15 minutes late, this unfortunately meant that the following patient was also in the surgery late. I was concerned that we'd e running late but we had five cancellations today because of the snow. Technically my boss could charge them a late cancellation fee but because he's a generally good guy, he waivered the fee.
After work, I arrived home to see Steph and Nat's snow creation. Nat said it was meant to be a snowman but it looked more like a lump of snow to me. Whatever it was meant to be, I still missed all the fun. I also arrived home to a very happy Steph. She's finally got her deed poll for her change of name. She's now officially a Stephanie and not a Stefani. We've been getting used to spelling her name as Steph instead of Stef since she submitted the application, and I think it's finally stuck.
